PlayA riddle or puzzle is a fun way of learning at any age. The ability to understand a riddle, and look for its solution, is a developmental stage in children’s lives: as long as the puzzles are well-suited to their level of understanding, they will be able to find wisdom and joy in them. They may even produce their own riddles, requiring both intelligence and creativity.
Remark – this book was published many years ago, and a new edition has now been reprinted. Illustrator Ora Ayal depicted the animals in cages, as was previously common. These days, the animals are being treated far more considerately, and given spaces and habitats similar to those they have in the wild. The illustration of the animals could prompt some discussion on the way such animals were formerly treated, how their lives have since improved, ,and how important it is to preserve them, for many of them are currently in danger of becoming extinct.
