Hamotzi Lehem Min Haaretz (who brings bread out of the ground) – From wheat to bread

Bread is a key ingredient in human nutrition in this region. To signify its importance, Our Rabbis have established that a special blessing be recited before one eats bread – Hamotzi Lehem Min Haaretz. Traditionally we also treat bread with particular respect, try not to waste it, or throw it away, although the same is true for all food.
