Just the Sea

By: Anat Warshavsky illustrations: Anat Warshavsky

A bottlecap without a bottle, old pipes, and even a comb lying on the sand – all of these can become part of a wonderful game or a work of art if you look at them in the right way. For the boy in the story nothing is “just” anything, everything can be miraculous; the different discarded items he finds, and a walk on the beach.

Age Group: PRESCHOOL

Kids just play, and so does the main character in this book: He “just” turns a bottle cap into a mold with which to create patterns, “just” creates a water canal using a broken comb, and even encourages the duck to turn “just” old items into a new game. This book reveals the world of children to us, where “nothing much” can become something new, interesting and creative.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven
