Saul the Cat

By: Eric Litwin Illustrations: James Dean

Saul the Cat loves to walk around in his white shoes. But what happens when he steps in a pile of strawberries? Or a mountain of blueberries? Can Saul continue to sing and frolic when his surroundings change? An optimistic story about colors and about dealing with the unexpected.

Age Group: Daycare (2-3)

Shaul the Cat walks along in his white shoes. Along the way, he accidentally steps in a pile of strawberries, a pile of blueberries, a puddle of mud, and a bucket of water. His shoes get soiled, and change colors – that can be unpleasant – but Shaul looks on the bright side, and walks happily along, because life is good and full of color.

Whatever happened – he would say: That too is for the best
(Based on the Tractate of Taanit 21a)
