A grandfather, grandson and a donkey set off on a journey.\u00a0 Grandfather rides on back of the donkey while the grandson walks alongside him.\u00a0 Passersby do not like this arrangement, and each one proposes a different way for the three to walk together.\u00a0 Ultimately, in an attempt to please everyone, the grandfather and grandson lift the donkey and carry him on their shoulders!<\/p>\n
The classic Israeli children\u2019s book writer UrielOfek wrote this rhyming rendition of a well-known folktale, which illustrates with humor how one can\u2019t please everyone all the time.\u00a0 After reading the story parents and children can laugh together and tell jokes.\u00a0 The book is distributed before the holiday of Purim, as it is written, \u201cWhen the month of Adar comes, joy is increased\u201d (Mishnichnas Adar marbinbisimcha).\u00a0 Children will also learn the Hebrew saying \u201cThink before you act\u201d (Sofma\u2019asehbimachshavatechila), and consider how it relates to their own behavior.<\/p>\n
